3 Things To Do To Be Prepared For Summer Skincare
With the sun starting to shine brighter and the days getting longer, it might be time to adjust your skincare routine.
Warmer weather can mean a variety of changes for your skin from being more oily, to being more dry, to having breakouts caused by sweat and anything in between.
Here are 3 things you can do to be prepared for this!
The first thing you can do is make sure you are using a facial SPF of 30 or higher every single day! UV rays from the sun damage and thin out our skin quicker than anything else. Daily SPF will be the best combat in protecting your skin as the months get warmer. Here is our favorite.
Second, cut back on active ingredient exfoliation products.
Your skin is naturally going to become less protected during warm months. Giving it active ingredients regularly can become overly irritating and possibly damaging. Always exfoliate a little bit less during the summer.
Lastly, if you aren't using a rich, hydrating moisturizer, this might be the time to add one to your routine.
More often than not, warm weather dehydrates not just our skin, but our entire body. No moisture in the air equals less moisture in our systems. Being prepared with a heavier moisturizer to compensate for moisture loss can be helpful.
Everybody and every skin type responds to products differently and has different needs. This list is a general guideline to follow and a place to start. If you have questions about your skincare routine and which products to adjust as it gets warmer, schedule a consultation and we can help you out!
